The combination of local tradition with modernity in the Nowa Lastadia design has been a breakthrough in Polish architecture. The housing estate’s development is based on European solutions applied in locations like London, Glasgow, Dublin and Copenhagen, where former docklands are renovated by adapting the existing buildings and constructing new ones. Nowa Lastadia constitutes two, different-sized multi-apartment five-storey residential buildings. A spacious courtyard enabling the residents to relax outdoors constitutes one of its attractions. The residents have also a recreational complex with saunas and a fitness room.
Construction was preceded with archaeological works, resulting in the finding and protecting of many valuable discoveries.
Nowa Lastadia is an apartment complex established on Stare Przedmieście in Gdańsk on the Motława, on Lastadia Street, only 500 metres from Dolna Brama, considered to be the oldest place in the city.
The location’s attractiveness is determined mainly by the close proximity of the Old City of Gdańsk and the Motława River – of unique historical values nationally.
