Michał Baryżewski and Zbigniew Reszka ARCH DECO
What’s the most important aspect in an architect's work?
Zbigniew Reszka: My architectural credo is that there should be as little architecture as possible in the landscape. Our intention is to design in such a way that the objects fit harmoniously into it. I also believe that architecture should be timeless and that it takes experience and humility to design. Restraint and craftsmanship, especially in the handling of minute details and choosing the best materials, are the basis of an architect's work. Our projects are always different because we adapt the investment to the surrounding area.
From an architectural standpoint, how does the Polish landscape look?
ZR: One of the biggest problems in Poland is urban chaos. It lies in the fact that the country still lacks a master plan. A lot of buildings are created from unauthorised construction and I believe that architecture should be designed for the public, which is what we do. Less is more. The projects designed by Invest Komfort are different every time because the people involved in the projects use local materials and adapt to the surrounding area.
Michał Baryżewski: When designing, Invest Komfort takes care of both the landscape and the surroundings. Many times, as in the case of Nowe Orłowo, the investor designs not only the buildings but also the space around them. I don't mean greenery, which of course plays an extremely important role in the context of the investment, but I’m also thinking about public squares, which the designers create not only for future residents of a given investment, but also for the residents of the Tri-City.
What distinguishes Invest Komfort?
MB: First of all, the awareness that architecture is a permanent thing which we leave behind for generations. Invest Komfort is perfectly mindful of this and does not translate it into everyday work, but into taking care of every detail. The quality of their projects is on a par with the best projects in Europe.
