Nowe Kolibki. Story about home.
A ticket to the spectacle of nature
Text written by: Lena Jeziorska
It doesn’t take much to fall in love with the undisturbed natural landscape. By contrast, it’s far harder to fall for a place chaotically built up by man. Nevertheless, sometimes architecture manages to blend with nature in a delightful way – not disturbing its natural beauty but accentuating it perfectly.
Every corner of the Nowe Kolibki estate and every common area has been designed to soothe the senses and deliver respite. Living in a world that moves at dizzying speed every day makes such a synchronous and calming whisper of nature and architecture of enormous value.
Man craves contact with nature, and wants to draw from its beneficial influence. This is an often repeated truism, yet it hides a deeper and discomforting conclusion. Man needs nature and longs for it because he lacks contact with it. Truth be told, this overwhelming longing results from a lack of time.
Architecture immersed in greenery – surrounded by it on all sides and open to both nature and the satisfaction of human needs – can address this longing in a beautiful way. It may also be the best answer to many of today’s problems. Nowe Kolibki is here to provide that answer. It offers residents an unlimited ticket to the spectacle of nature.
